Scholarship Info

The Yamaha Music Scholarship is aimed at nurturing and developing musical talents in Malaysia. It provides financial assistance to full-time music students who are currently studying at local University/ College.

Criteria

Only Malaysian, full time music students.
Applicants are not older than 22 years of age (born in OR after the year of 1994 ),
Majoring in either Piano, Electone Organ, Strings, Woodwind, Brass or Percussion at a University/ College in Malaysia.
Having a minimum qualification of ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall Grade 8 or Yamaha Grade 5 for Piano, Organ Electone and Strings.
Having a minimum qualification of ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall Grade 5 or Yamaha Grade 7 for other instruments not listed in (i)

Amount

Six (6) successful candidates will be awarded a scholarship of Two Thousand Ringgit
Malaysia (RM2,000) each.

How to Apply

Download and complete the application form, which should be countersigned and validated by your respective Principle / Head of Music Faculty/ Professor.

Audition Requirements:

Prepare two (2) contrasting pieces of approximately 10 minutes in length.

General Interview:

Please bring along the original copies of the pieces and a photocopied set for the scholarship selection committee as reference, which will be retained and destroyed after the audition.
